For the past 16 years, MoonSchool has provided fun and enriching shows and camps for performers of all experience levels ages 8-18, helmed by the Bay Area’s best professional teaching artists! More than just putting on a show, MoonSchoolers gain valuable experience in all the theatre arts, as well as developing confidence, teamwork, and social skills. And did we mention it’s a whole lot of fun?


FEBRUARY 2024 PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE

The 2024 MoonSchool Winter Showcase is the perfect opportunity for students of all experience levels to perform songs or musical numbers they’ve been working on, working with a professional vocal director and performing on the Gateway Stage! Friends and family will be able to watch the performers shine onstage, while the students create lasting connections with other performers and the professional MoonSchool staff.

• Gain performance experience as a soloist or small group
• Prepare for college portfolios or auditions

Ages 10-17 • $55 per student
Groups/clubs: $40/student (maximum group size is 8)

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical Jr., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos and must guard an abandoned egg that’s been left by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal.

Disney’s Finding Nemo Jr. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie, with new music by FROZEN songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, clownfish, must face his fears as he finds and rescues his son Nemo. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Finding Nemo Jr. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents!
