Youth Classes -- Summer 2014
The 2014 summer session of MoonSchool has finished. We thank you for your interest. Please check back with us next year!
MOONSCHOOL returns this summer!
For Ages 7-17!
MoonSchool Summer Camp and Conservatory
This two-week summer course is aimed at students that want to know the ins and outs of putting on a show. Mornings are spent in rehearsal and afternoons are filled with building sets, props, and costumes. Students will learn all aspects of theatre production - from learning how to sing, dance, and act, through participating in fun, age-appropriate art projects to create the design elements of the production. Older students will be much more engaged technically. Music theory and song interpretation, as well as motivated acting technique, and more complex dance choreography will be part of the course. Students will rehearse and produce Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr., the fun, nostalgic, and still hip show based on the educational cartoon shorts popular in the 1970s. This high-energy, rock and pop theatre extravaganza will have two performances on the final Saturday and a party (of course!).
Dates: July 7-18, Monday-Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, plus a two-performance Saturday on July 19, 2014
(Performance Saturday begins at 1 pm for the students with performances at 2 pm and 5 pm.)
Special Discount for Families!
If you have more than one child interested in attending MoonSchool this summer, any additional siblings can attend for a discounted rate of $450 each!
Half-Day Attendance also Available!
Children can attend half-day, either the Morning Performance Arts sessions (from 9 am to noon) or the Afternoon Scenic Arts sessions (1 pm - 4 pm), for a rate of $250.
Because we are loath to turn any truly interested child away, we have a limited number of scholarships and partial scholarships available. Please contact Education Director Dyan McBride (email@example.com) for details.
