Hello friends of 42nd Street Moon,

I am writing to ask for your help in supporting 42nd Street Moon's continued brilliant work. Not only are they an integral part of the San Francisco performing arts scene, but they are a rare resource for preserving one of America's homegrown art forms, Musical Theatre.

I can't tell you what a thrill it was for me to work with this amazing company in I Feel a Song Coming On! the inaugural production of their Salon Series, this one celebrating the life and works of Dorothy Fields.

42nd Street Moon is unique in its mission to present the best of the American Songbook in its original theatrical context, and what an important mission it is!

How else would we be able to fully grasp the meaning behind the words of Dorothy Fields, Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, and the other great lyricists of our past?

How else would we be able to understand the impact that these older shows have had on the contemporary hits of today?

And what production value! These guys have really stepped it up! They are now mounting fully staged, intimate productions with some major star power. This season alone 42nd Street Moon is bringing you Klea Blackhurst, Megan Cavanagh, Connie Champagne, and the one and only Donna McKechnie!
